Escape The Museum Review

Remember everyone: ZOOM THE SCREEN! You can't see anything otherwise. There is just no way anyone would say that they couldn't find squat, unless they didn't know to zoom the screen. This is how hidden object games work on the Wii and DS. You zoom in and then scroll around. In this game, as soon as you get into a room, you will see an establishng shot of the room. Then you press the trigger (B) on the wiimote and pull towards you, and this zooms in on the room. You then scroll up, down, left, and right on the screen, allowing you to look at different enlarged segments of the room, one at a time. The items are definitely visible enough to find, but not so easy that it's not a challenge. Sure it's not as good as the PC version, and the DS version is better because it's portable, has dual screens, and the controls are easier. But it's still a pretty good Wii game that fans of hidden object and puzzle game fans will enjoy---as long as you ZOOM! Sorry if I sound like a broken record, but there's a lot of very negative reviews. The people who say they couldn't find a single object has to be unaware of the zoom feature, or are suffering from some kind of eye trauma.

A Detailed, First-Person View of the Museum
The story behind Escape the Museum began innocently enough when Susan Anderson brought her daughter to work at the National Museum of History to share in an exciting, educational day. But just after closing time, an earthquake caused destruction on a massive scale. After making sure that Caitlin was safe, Susan returns to the museum to make sure no one else had been trapped and left behind, but her heroic intentions are compromised when falling debris knocks her unconscious.

When she wakes up--alone and in the midst of all the ruined displays--she can barely move. This is where you come in, standing in her shoes, with a first-person view of the vast museum and all the gritty, dusty destruction caused by the earthquake. Can you outsmart the security system that has come on? Save art and artifacts from the dusty, unstable displays? Find a way to reach your daughter for a happy reunion?

Sensitive Wii Controls for Navigating a Puzzling Journey
With 25 distinct adventure scenes and 12 different hunt-and-find areas to search through, there's plenty of territory to explore in this museum. And your Wii remote offers the control you need to solve a variety of puzzles, find and salvage priceless artifacts, and uncover exits that have been hidden in the chaos. Skillful players will even discover ways to access hints that help them on their adventurous journey.

When it comes time to gauge where you stand, a detailed map screen lets you check what percentage of the game you have completed and gauge your progress. You can also quickly view your accuracy as a percentage, the value of the artifacts you have saved, and the amount of time that has elapsed. All these stats add to the fun when you want to compete against your personal best or the personal bests of your friends and family.

Challenging Mini-Games
In addition to the main adventure narrative, this hidden object game includes two mini-games that add to the challenge of your missions. One requires you to locate pieces of valuable paintings and reassemble them as a puzzle. The other asks you to try and match an artifact's weight. Successful matching allows you to save the artifact in question and continue on to other rooms.

Fantastic 4 Silver Surfer

Friday, July 23, 2010

Fantastic 4 Silver Surfer Review

You use the Wii-mote and nunchuk and sometimes use motion controls for the special moves. Game also supports multiplayer.

Gameplay is pretty much a beat 'em up and each character is used to unlock a door or something, for instance The Thing (rock guy) is used to bash down walls, steel doors, and cave areas. The Fantasic 4 fight together and you control any character you want and can switch between characters using the d-pad, while the computer will fight with the other 3 characters. You have a limited supply of "Cosmic Energy", which is used to perform special-stronger attacks. Each character will Level up during the game and gain more health, more cosmic energy, and more special moves. The characters are much more fun to play later in the game. There are 3 modes, Easy, Normal, & Hard. There are also some unlockables that you can get if you find the Fantastic 4 logos, which also give other bonuses like experience to your characters. The unlockables aren't really much though, just different costumes, credits, comic covers, etc.

I was able beat the game fairly quickly. Most of it is pretty simple. There are some breakable walls that I overlooked when I first started, but once it fooled me, I never got stuck again. There is a puzzle part, at least I thought, where you use the Human Torch to set flames to funeral pyres in a certain order to match the pattern on the ground. It had me stumped because I was trying to recreate the actual picture on one of the tiles. It is very easy, but wasn't obvious to me at first. [SPOILER] You have 8 pyres, 4 tiles with with pictures on them on the ground. The gaps between the tiles are not supposed to be on fire, and the pictured ones are. If they had a frame around all the tiles it would have been more obvious.
[END OF SPOILER]

Overall I thought this was a fun, good game, and got better as it progressed, since the characters got stronger.

Fantastic 4 Silver Surfer Feature

  • Exclusive storyline that complements the film - combination of movie and original plot
  • Unique Fusion Attack system - Combine forces with one, two or all three teammates, executing devasta
  • Take on the role of any member of the Fantastic Four team and switch characters at any time
  • Use each member's unique special abilities that will help the team get through different situations
  • Fight enemies from the Fantastic Four universe including Silver Surfer, Red Ghost, Terrax and Super

We Cheer

We Cheer Review

Wow, this game is great! It really gets you up and moving! I was expecting much less when I got it for Christmas. (I'm 11) It's a lot of fun, except, you'll want to skip the beginning tutorial unless you like boring. All you do is basically move the wii remotes to the beat when the timed star moves around the line. Some of the songs are a bit outdated, and you can get sick of having to do the same songs over and over because some are really hard to unlock. I also think the outfits are a little skimpy. The shorts are kind of like underwear. The girls have huge busts and tiny bodies. If you want to dance with that, okay. The dances are fun and challenging, until they get old.Another disapointment was that you need two remotes for one person except for a wiimote and nunchuk. These are the different parts:
Championship: Dance to all kinds of different songs and unlock new clothes and stages if you haven't beaten the game.
Cheer Off: Compete with 2 to 4 players for different songs.
Workout: Help a fat guy get thin and work out. present at the end.
There is a squad makeover so you can pick your squad. Dressing Rooms are where you can pick an outfit for your squad. That's all the main stuff. Overall it's FUN!!!!!!!!!

We Cheer Feature

  • Hit Songs - Dance and cheer to the hottest music from artists of the past, present and future. Groove to teen sensations Hilary Duff and Aly and AJ to the 70¿s disco bands.
  • Endless Character Customization - Create your ultimate cheerleader by customizing her with the perfect competition outfit.
  • Engaging Modes - Choose a mode that suits your mood. Burn some calories in Exercise Mode, compete for the Captain position in 2 player Campaign Mode or play with up to 4 players in Party Mode and show them who is the #1 cheerleader.

Power Up Charging Stand for Wii Fit

Power Up Charging Stand for Wii Fit Review

This thing is GREAT and it certainly eases your mind about buying batteries every few weeks/months!! It's unfortunate (and smacks of sheer laziness) that someone gave it only two stars because of a silly thing like a removable skin. Seriously. I have a skin for my board (a nice blue one :)) and, granted, while it doesn't fit into the charger "as is," all you have to do is unhook one side of the skin (the side by the left foot, since the charger's oriented that way) and drape it over the charging stand as it slides in. DONE. When you're ready to use it, just slide it out, re-hook the skin (which takes less than 5 seconds. I counted) and you're good to go. It's not rocket science. Really. That's why it's such a good product.

Power Up Charging Stand for Wii Fit Feature

  • Compact storage for Wii Fit Balance Board*
  • Rechargeable battery pack included
  • Charge status LED indicator
  • Powered by any standard wall outlet ¿ no USB port required
  • 2 extra USB ports for accessory charging

Power Up Charging Stand for Wii Fit Overview

Keep your Wii Fit Balance Board neatly stored and full of energy with the Power Up Charging Stand from Mad Catz. Simply remove the battery cover and batteries from your Balance Board and replace them with the included rechargeable battery pack for hours of continuous gameplay. Two bonus USB ports free up space on your Wii console and AC power means the stand can be placed wherever it’s most convenient for you. After you’ve completed your workout or gaming session, just place the Balance Board in the stand and its LED indicator will let you know when the battery has been fully recharged, saving you the time, money and hassle of replacing expensive batteries.
