Let's Tap Review

Since I have a family of four that include a 6 and 4 year old, we collect Wii games that promote interactivity and 2-4 players, with the preference at 4 players. This is the only game we have that has running races, and with the let's tap mechanism allowing you to tap to run, tap harder to jump, and time your jumps to accurately leap over hurdles, swing across vines, and land big jumps, the game is versatile, exciting, and fun. In our last four player game, everybody won a race, and the oldest had the most second place finishes. Several races finished with first and second place being separated by less than a second.

Let's Tap has an option to adjust the sensitivity of the tapping, so if you find yourself trying to run but you keep jumping (because you tap too hard), you can crank the sensitivity to accommodate your fat fingers. Adjust the sensitivity the other way to make it more challenging.

There are several mini games within the Let's Tap game, including a "guitar hero/ddr" style rhythm tapping game, a combo-tap style Fireworks game, and one of those games where you try to knock out consecutive blocks. While these other games provide some entertainment, none of them match up to the running races. There are many running courses, and each course you complete advances you to another that has more fun obstacles to traverse. It's different than any other wii game you play and offers a nice change of pace to the ones you play on the regular.

When it's a low price, I recommend adding it to your collection...especially if you like me and you want to make sure the Wii games you have play like a wii game should be played: Using the controller like a racket, ball, gun, airplane, lasso, musical instrument, etc.
